Clovis Stays Unbeaten; Goddard Girls Improve to 12-8

Clovis: With two games to before their showdown with Hobbs, Clovis beat Roswell 96-41.

Jaye Crockett scored 35 points and Jaden Isler added 20 for 19-0 Clovis.

The Wildcats jumped on the Coyotes 35-13 in the first period and never looked back.

The Wildcats host Artesia on Friday then travel to Trinity Christian in Lubbock on Monday, before their first of possible four meetings with Hobbs on the first of February.

 

In Dexter: Marissa Mapp scored 15 and Goddard placed five girls in double figures as the Lady Rockets beat Dexter 72-42.

Tiffany Green scored 12, as did Maddie Greene. Hayley Horton  and Brianna Garza each contributed with 11 for Goddard now 12-8.

Senior point guard Crystal Banda scored 18 to lead Dexter.

 

 

 

Las Cruces: Luis Quinones scored 17 and Javier Ybarra scored 15 points as Mayfield held off Las Cruces 66-64 in District 3-5A action.

Cruces took a 17-15 first period lead, only to have Mayfield rally to tie the game at 33 at intermission.

Cruces outscored the Trojans 21-16 in the third and held on for the win.

Cruces was led by Noah Fox who scored 20.

 

Hobbs: Jeff Taylor scored 28 points as Hobbs improves to 20-2 with a 101-52 win over Goddard.

The Eagles outscored the Rockets 22-14 in the first period and opened up the contest with a 26-9 second period.

Juhreece Thompson added 18 and Alan Tate scored 13 to lead Hobbs.

Justin Cooper led the Rockets with 21.

 

Socorro: The Warriors wasted little time in taking command of this contest. Socorro jumped on Cobre 18-7 in the first period for a 77-47 win in District 3-3A action.

Antonio Carrejo scored 18 and Baski Baker added 17 to lead the Warriors to their 12th win of the season.

Cobre was led by Eric Martinez who had 14 points.

 

Mesilla Valley: Jeremy Roman scored 21 points as Mesilla Valley beat Lordsburg 77-61.

Mesilla Valley broke open a close contest (36-30 at the half) in the third period outscoring Lordsburg 20-11.

Miguel Estrada scored 22 for Lordsburg.

 

Los Alamos: The Hilltoppers got a huge win in District 2-4A with a 51-49 win over Capital. Martin Romero’s tip in at the buzzer gave the Toppers the win to improve to 14-7 and 2-1 in district play.

Nick Allen had 17 for Los Alamos and Ben Allen added 14.  Capital was led by Brian Maes with 12.

 

Moriarty: The top ranked team in 4A, Moriarty, got 18 points from Kristen Valencia and 15 from Brandi Valencia as the Lady Pintos improve to 17-1 and 3-0 in District 5-4A, with a 49-39 win over Belen.

Nicole Sanchez and Franchesca Stark each had eight for Belen.  

 

Las Cruces: Andrea Aragon scored 13 points as Las Cruces beat Mayfield 60-39 and improved to 9-8 and 1-1 in District 3-5A.

The Bulldawgs took an early 22-10 lead in the first period and extended their lead to 36-18 at the half.

Amy Fratzola scored 12 for Cruces and Devon Mulheron added 11.

Amanda Tucker, Justina Apodaca, Jeneca Maya each scored nine for Mayfield who drops to 14-5 and 1-1.

Hagerman: Hagerman improved to 16-2 with a 77-35 crushing over Valley Christian. Bill Squire scored 22 and Issac Tejarano added 19 for Hagerman. Taylor Line scored nine to lead Valley Christian.

 

 Mora: Mora picked up a huge win over Santa Rosa 55-48. Adrian Lopez scored 15 to pace the Rangers, 9-11, while handing the Lions only their third loss of the season. The Lions were led by Jeff reeves with 12 points.
