Former Aggie, Hawkins, To Play for Kings this Summer

LAS CRUCES, N.M.-Former New Mexico State guard/forward Justin Hawkins is set to play for the Sacramento Kings in the 2008 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, July 11-20.  He is part of Sacramento’s 17-player roster.  

Hawkins was the Aggies leading scorer as both a senior (18.1) and junior (15.6).  He was also a two-time first team All-WAC selection and is No. 16 on NMSU’s all-time scoring list with 1,126 points in only two seasons. 

Sacramento plays five games in nine days at the COX Pavilion and Thomas and Mack Center on the UNLV campus.  The Kings roster includes veterans Quincy Douby (Rutgers), Spencer Hawes (Washington) Shelden Williams (Duke) along with Zabian Dowdell (Virginia Tech), Patrick Ewing Jr. (Georgetown), Noel Felix (Fresno State), David Johnson (Napa Valley Community College), Darnell Jones (Mesa College), Marcus Malone (Houston), Bo McCalebb (New Orleans), Juan Palacios (Louisville), Patrick Sanders (UC Irvine), Sean Singletary (Virginia), Jason Thompson (Rider), Darin Townes (Arkansas) and Matt Walsh (Florida).

July 12 vs. Toronto at 2:00 p.m. (COX Pavilion)

July 15 vs. Portland at 8:00 p.m. (COX Pavilion)

July16 vs. Dallas at 4:00 p.m. (COX Pavilion)

July 18 vs. Golden State at 8:00 p.m. (COX Pavilion)
