Friday Night Basketball Action

In boy’s basketball action Friday night, Hagerman 6’8 senior post player Bill Squire popped in 27 points and added 12 rebounds as Hagerman improved to 2-0 with a 78-43 win over Loving.
Hagerman races out to a 28-11 first period advantage and never looked back. Hagerman increased their lead to 57-21 at intermission.
Besides Squire’s 27 points and 12 rebounds, Isaac Dejarno scored 19.
Loving was led by Frank Ornales’ 11 points.
In the Alamosa Tournament in
The Trojans trailed 7-1 early in the opening period, but rallied to out score the
Mesa Vista led 35-24 at intermission and increased their lead to 14 as the led 51-37 heading into the final eight minutes.
Frankie Jiron scored 24 and added five three-pointers for the Trojans. Geronimo Lopez added 19 and Jaime Cruz scored an even dozen.
In the Kirtland Tournament,
Pojoaque beat Grants 70-49 as Ryan Gonzales scores 24. The Elks, 2-0, also had Eddie Ortega, Orlando Trujillo and Tom Micotte each with 10.

In Goddard, the Lady Rockets trailed 17-18 after the first period and then outscored the Lady colts from Silver 28-16 in the second period as Goddard goes to 1-1 with an 82-59 win.
Tarrah Sweet led the Lady rockets with 20 points and Marissa Matt and Tiffany Green each added 14 to pace Goddard. The Lady Rockets will play Deming Saturday in a matinee affair starting at 1.
NMMI beat Gateway Christian 30-21.
