Greyhound Soccer Team to Host Team Camp
by ENMU Athletics
PORTALES, NM: Eastern New Mexico University would like to invite you to register for the 2008 Residential Team Camp. In order to maximize coach and player interaction, team camp will be limited to only eight teams of no more than 18 players per team (8 teams for girls camp and 8 for boys camp). By limiting the amount of participants we will create an interactive environment that will give every player the opportunity to continue to build their technical skills and tactical understanding. This development is crucial to the success of student athletes at the next level.
Camp Philosophy
We utilize the small-sided games format in order to teach skills and tactical development. Examples are 3v3, 4v4, 5v5 and 8v8 training. Small-sided games enable participants to maximize the number of touches one has on the ball and increases the amount of decisions one makes during training sessions. This format gives players immediate opportunities to use new knowledge and apply it directly to game situations where it is most needed.
Team Roster and Chaperon
A Team roster may be comprised of high school age players (grades 9 - 12). A minimum of 16 players or a maximum of 18 players may accompany each team. The team’s full-time coach or a chaperon must accompany the team and is responsible for the team at all times. The full-time team coach or chaperon will receive $125.00 compensation for their assistance. We will provide all meals and lodging for chaperons free of charge.
