Jaden Isler Verbally Agrees to Attend Charleston Southern University

by NMOTSC

The last Clovis basketball player to play Division-I basketball was Bubba Jennings, who attended and has a successful career at Texas Tech. Now you can add Jaden Isler to that list. Isler verbally committed to Division-I Charleston Southern University. Isler should make it official April 16, the official signing day of college letters of intent.

Isler is Clovis’ second all-time leading scorer, 56 points shy of Jennings’s 1,413 points. Isler holds the Wildcat record for assists with 263 in a season and 724 total in his career. His 263 assists led the state, this past season. “Charleston Southern University is a great fit for Jaden,” said his for father and coach J.D. Isler. “Their up-tempo style will suit him well. The opportunity to play as a freshman; the opportunity to play in the NCAA Tournament and the Christian atmosphere of the university were all major factors in his decision to go there.” Isler chose CSU over such schools as Lubbock Christian, Adams State, Howard and Cochise Junior colleges.

Isler stated that he always wanted to play at the D-1 level, and felt playing for a school the size of Clovis helped in achieving his dream.” That’s what I’ve worked for my whole life and I decided I had an opportunity to do that, so that’s where I decided to go,” he said. Isler plans on enrolling early in summer classes at CSU so he may get involved in early workouts.
