Monte Del Sol May NOT Finish Baseball Season

Santa Fe: Monte del Sol is on the verge of canceling its baseball season less than a week from its District 1AA opener, after the Dragons' roster dwindled to eight.

"It's a big drag," Frank Lucero, Monte del Sol head coach, said Friday. "We are desperately trying to finish the season."

Lucero, who doubles as athletic director, said a final decision will be made next week, perhaps as early as Tuesday. Monte del Sol is scheduled to face Mesa Vista on Thursday at Fort Marcy Ballpark.
