NMHU Hires Volleyball Coach

Las Vegas, NM: NMHU is very happy to announce that Jim Deisler has been hired as the new Volleyball Coach at NMHU. Deisler replaces former coach Tom Duke, who’s contract was not renewed after the 2007 season.

Coach Jim Deisler comes to NMHU from Iowa Central Community College, a 2-year institution in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Deisler was the Head Coach at Iowa Central for 3 seasons. In those 3 seasons he posted a 70-44 record as well as produced 7 Academic All-Americans. His 2006 team qualified for the national tournament for the second time in school history and finished #8 in the nation in 2007. Coach Deislers highest national ranking at Iowa Central was #4 in the nation. Coach Deisler has also coached at the University of Central Oklahoma, where he was an Assistant Coach for 1 season. UCO finished with a record of 21-9 that season. Coach Deisler was also the Head Coach at Mid-Del Christian School for 6 seasons, and in those 6 seasons Coach Deislers teams won 5 State championships. He has also coached junior teams with USA Volleyball for 9 years.

Coach Deisler is looking forward to coaching at NMHU and is excited about the opportunity to coach at the NCAA DII level. He has met the team and is ready to hit the ground running.

Coach Deisler has been married to his beautiful wife, Sandra, for the past 10 years and has 2 sons, Zane (4) and Brenen (2 months).
