by NMHU Athletics

Las Vegas, NM: Jesse Feinsod, a junior from Colorado Springs, CO, has been named the RMAC Wrestler of the Week. Jesse is the 174 pounder for the Cowboys and has had an awesome season. He earned the honor of being named RMAC Wrestler of the Week because of his outstanding performance this past week.

Jesse went 3-1 over the past week as the Cowboys took on NCAA # 4 University of Nebraska @ Kearney, NCAA # 16 Chadron State, Colorado School of Mines and NCAA #5 Western State College. Jesse posted a very convincing victory over Kearney’s nationally ranked (#3) Marty Usman by a score of 10-4. Feinsod then beat Chadron State’s Willy Jones; Feinsod was leading 10-2 before the match was ended due to an Injury Default. Jones had previously beaten Adam State’s #2 ranked Evan Copeland the week before by a score of 2-1. Feinsod continued to roll as he recorded a win over CSM’s Zac Cornett by a score of 9-3. Feinsod’s lone defeat of the week came last night as he lost to top ranked Larry Wilbanks or Western State 6-4. Jesse is now 27-11 on the season and is getting ready for the NCAA Western Regional / RMAC Championships on March 1st. NMHU will host this year’s Regional Tournament, it will take place on the NMHU Campus in the John A. Wilson Complex.
