Roswell, NM: The Lady Bronco Track and Field team participated in the Tartleton State Relays in Stephenville, Texas on Thursday March 13, 08. This was the first time the New Mexico Military Institute has ever fielded a women's track and field team for a meet at the collegiate level.
 
Despite the lack of history, the Lady Broncos performed extremely well, bringing home five event finishes in the top eight:
Tracey Young High Jump 1.59m 2nd place tie
Triple Jump 9.99m 4th place
Charity Gillespie Javelin Throw 33.50m 7th place
Haley Hill Long Jump 4.59m 7th place
Tracey Young Long Jump 4.58m 8th place
Tracey Young missed the National Qualifying Standard for high jump by just 1 centimeter.
 
All of the young ladies performed very well, even the ones who had never been involved in a real track meet before. Here are the results for the rest of the team members:
