STILLWATER, Okla.– The New Mexico State men’s tennis team fell for the fourth time this season to a ranked opponent, as No. 24 Oklahoma State defeated the Aggies 7-0 at Stillwater’s DeBois Tennis Complex.

The Aggies fall to 6-5 with the loss while the Cowboys improve to 11-5 this spring.

Assistant coach Carlos Vargas thought that his team competed hard in the loss and that this was without a question the best team the Aggies have faced so far this season.

“We had a pretty slow start today,” Vargas said. “Stefan (McKinney) and Jim (Brouleau) played well, but it just took too long to get started and you can’t do that against a team like this. Playing against really good teams like this you have to be sharp from the get go.”

New Mexico State is back at it Sunday afternoon against Oral Roberts. The match at the DeBois Tennis Complex is set to begin at 12:00 p.m.
