NMSU Sixth Man Club Fundraiser Set for March 17

LAS CRUCES, N.M.-The New Mexico State men’s basketball Sixth Man Club is hosting its annual spring fundraising dinner for the Aggies Monday, March 17, at the Hotel Encanto.

Tickets are priced at $100 per person and are available by calling 526-4976.  Guests have the chance to meet head coach Marvin Menzies, his staff and players from this year’s team with 100% of all funds raised going to the Sixth Man Club to help cover team expenses not included in the men’s basketball operating budget.

“Last year, the Sixth Man club helped send the Aggies to Canada for a valuable pre-season exhibition tour,” event organizer Lou Sisbarro said.  “If we want to maintain the level of basketball Reggie Theus and Marvin Menzies have brought to Las Cruces, we all need to step up and help fund future seasons’ trip and other necessary expenses.”

The fact that the spring fundraiser falls on the Monday after the WAC Tournament is no accident.

“Win or lose, the Sixth Man Club is already focused on next season and beyond,” event organizer Kevin McGrath said.  “On Monday March 17, we either want to send the Aggies off to postseason play in a big way or thank them for bringing NMSU basketball back into national prominence.”
