St Pius' Chris Johansen Goes Over 1,400 Point Mark

In boy's high school hoos action Tuesday night:

St. Pius: Chris Johansen went over the 1,400 point mark in his Sartan season career as St. Pius beat Belen 69-52. Pius now 18-5 and 6-1 in Dist 5-4A, got 19 points from Johansen as well as Paul Jessen with 15. Josh Mattox led Belen (12-10, 5-2) with 18 points.

Socorro: The Socorro Warriors go to 16-8 and 5-1 in district 3-3A with a 73-60 over Hatch.

The Warriors took a one point advantage, 49-48, into the fourth period before securing the win. Jeremy Montano scored 15 of his game high 25 points in the fourth period for Socorro.

Jorge Gonzalez added 18.

Nathan Duran led Hatch with 20 points.

Santa Fe: Eric Kibi scored 17 points for Sandia as the Matadors improve to 15-9 and 4-2 in District 4-5A, with a 55-38 win over Santa Fe.

The Demons led 25-21 at the half but a 34-13 second half for Sandia sealed the deal.

Joseph Moquino scored 12 as did Marcus Scott for Sandia. Troy Ramas scored 13 for Santa Fe.

Rio Grande: The Hope Huskies go to 16-7 with a 69-52 non-district win over Rio Grande. Matt Murphy led the Huskies with 14 points and Adam Keith added 11.

Gabe Sanchez and Matt Apodaca each scored 15 for the Ravens.

Sandia Prep: Racing out to and 18-5 leas was all Sandia Prep (19-3, 4-0 Dist 5-3A) needed for a 71-21 win over Thoreau. Dale Minschwaner led the Sun Devils with 13 points and Mark Roybal added 10 as did Fili Pacheco. Jeramiah Johnson scored 10 for Thoreau.
