State Spirit Competition Undeerway in Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM- The New Mexico State Spirit Competition is the third largest annual event hosted by the NMAA behind the State Football and Basketball Championships. An estimated crowd of 16,000 is expected to attend the two day event at The Pit. The State competition hosts over 2,000 athletes representing high school varsity dance/drill and cheerleading teams competing for championship titles in seven categories and five classifications.
The New Mexico Activities Association will host the State Spirit Competition Presented by Varsity Brands, Inc. on Friday and Saturday (April 4 and 5).
The competition which begins each day at 9:00 am will be held at The Pit, located on the South Complex of The University of New Mexico. Doors will open to the public one hour prior to the beginning of each session. The afternoon sessions are scheduled to begin at 4:00 pm.
Tickets for the event can be purchased at the University of New Mexico Ticket office, located on the South East corner of The Pit. Tickets can also be purchased by calling (505) 925-LOBO or on-line at www.unmtickets.com. Ticket prices are $8.00 for reserved seating, $6.00 adults and $5.00 students and seniors.
