Tough week for 2AAA

by NMOTSC Staff

The Los Alamos Hilltoppers gave the St. Michaels something they haven’t had in at least a year, a loss. The Hilltoppers whooped the Horsemen 28-6 at Brother Abdon field on Saturday. The Horsemen fall to 1-1 on the season, the defending state champions travel across town for a Saturday afternoon match-up with the Capital Jaguars, they will complete the City championship the following week at Santa Fe against the Demons.

The Robertson Cardinals’ (0-2) fall from glory continues this week when they fell for the second time in as many weeks to a district 4AAA foe when the Lovington Wildcats defeated the Redbirds 34-6 in Southeastern New Mexico, Friday night. The Cards will have another tough week this week when they travel to Moriarty for a Friday night meeting with the Pintos.

The West Las Vegas Dons (1-1), traveled to Estancia only to be turned back by the feisty Bears 32-28 in a nip and tuck game. The Dons won’t have it any easier next week when they travel to Tucumcari to take on the Rattlers on the road.
