Girl’s Action:

Las Vegas: In the Meadow City, April Abeyta scored 21 points and Janine Coriz added 13 as the Santa Fe Indian School Lady Braves remain unbeaten at 17-0, with a 74-70 win over West Las Vegas.

The Lady Braves led 22-6 after the first period. The Lady Dons cut three points off the lead to trail 38-25 at the half. West Las Vegas made a game out of it outscoring SFIS 45-36 in the second half.

Miranda Salazar led the Lady Dons with 17 points and Karla Gallegos added 16.

With the win, SFIS is 1-0 in District 2-3A and the Lady Dons are 0-1.

Pojoaque: In Pojoaque, the Elkettes blew open a 8-8 game after the first period and outscored the Robertson Lady Cardinals 19-6 in the second period, for a 62-42 win.

The Elkettes improve to 16-1 and 1-0 in Dist. 2-3A.

The Elkettes were led by Deanna Montoya and Ellen Cruz, each with 15 points and Janelle Roybal added  14.

Robertson was led by Brooke Knezevich with 12 points.

St. Mikes: The Lady Horsemen go to 13-4 and 1-0 in Dist, 2-3A with a 71-38 thumping of Raton.

Marissa Peterson continued her scoring ways with 17 points and Kayla Herrera had 16.

Ashley Trujillo popped in 13 for Raton.

Rio Rancho: The Lady Rams got 19 huge points from Megan Muniz as Rio rancho goes to 11-5 with a 46-39 win over west Mesa.

The Lady rams led 18-16 at intermission, before the Lady Mustangs tied it in the third period.

 

Boy’s Action:

Los Alamos: The Hilltoppers’ Alex Kirk scored 24 points as Los Alamos opened up District 2-4A with a 70-55 win over Taos.

Nick Allen kicked in 11 for the ‘Toppers who are now 13-6 overall.

Capital: The Capital Jaguars got 20 points from Dylin Chavez and 11 from Pablo Martinez to beat Bernalillo 65-57 in District 2-4A action.

Capital is now 15-3 overall.

West Mesa: The Rio Rancho Rams began their defense of the District 5-5A title with a 70-65 come from behind win over West Mesa.

Marcus Williams led the Rams with 21 points ad rio rancho trialed 52-47 heading into the final period.

Jacob Gamon led the Mustangs with 14 points.
