Woods Named Robertson Head Football Coach

by Richard Tripp

Las Vegas, NM: Ray Woods has been named as the new head football coach at Robertson High School in Las Vegas.

Woods, a 1995 graduate from Albuquerque’s Highland High School, had been serving as an assistant football coach at Highlands University. Coincidently, Woods replaces Chad Roanhaus, who was the former Robertson coach and is now the head football coach at Highlands.

Woods plans to bring the same work ethic and philosophy that he learned from his former high school coach Judge Chavez. “It’s not just about football, it’s about life. It’s about dedication and never giving up. “

Woods was selected from a pool of 15 applicants and inherits a Cardinal program which won the Class 3A State football championship in 2005 and 2006 and this past year finished as the runner-up to St. Mike’s under Roanhaus.
