Zamora Leaves Kirtland to Take Top Volleyball Job in Bloomfield

by Farmington Daily Times

BLOOMFIELD — Phil Sategña didn't have to look far to fill the vacant volleyball coaching position at Bloomfield High School.

Looking to replace Marsha Turpen, Sategña, the athletics director at BHS, landed one of San Juan County's premiere volleyball voices in Eric Zamora.

Zamora leaves Kirtland Central after a wildly successful three-year stint that included a Class 4A runner-up finish in 2005 and a third-place showing in '06.

"I think it's one of the best hires I've ever done, to get someone that has had the success he's had," Sategña said Friday evening.
