Portales, N.M. – The Eastern New Mexico University’s women’s basketball team rallied from behind early in the first half, but the comeback fell short as the Zias lost to Tarleton State University 68-47 in a Lone Star Conference South Division contest on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at Greyhound Arena. The Zias dropped their overall record to 3-17 and remained winless in the LSC South in seven contests. The TexAnns improved their overall record to 14-6, with a 5-2 record in the LSC South.

The Zias fell behind early as Tarleton jumped out to a 23-4 lead, but Patricia Malouff (Fr., G, Aztec, N.M./Aztec HS) scored 11 of her game-total 14 points in the first half to cut the Tarleton lead down to just eight (31-23) going into the locker room. The TexAnns had three players score in double digits, while two Zias, Malouff and Til-Lois Fifer (Fr., F, Tulia, Texas/Tulia HS), provided double-digit scoring.
